I love spring

I love spring, it's great...almost as great as fall. I love all of the typical cliche things about this time of year--the rain, thunderstorms, fresh green grass, trees waking up from a long winter sleep, new flowers....ahhh, it's pure joy.

So, I have something kind of huge. I have been told that, as a girl, I am supposed to have a favorite flower. Usually if somone inquires as to my favorite flower, my response is "Oh, whatever is pretty"...which remains true. I have carefully chosen to not pick a "favorite" flower and make it well known on a whim. This is because I don't want to tell someone that something is my favorite, then get it as a gift and end up hating it. Yes, I am perfectly well aware that this is absurd, but these are the things that go on in my brain. So, I have postponed defining my favorite.

However, I think I now have chosen something:

Daisies.

Especially Gerber daisies.

When I look at them, they just make me smile. It's not becasue they are supposedly "happy flowers" or anything, I just think they are pretty. I like their vibrant color and their "typical" flowery appearance.

I also particularly like their thick stems, and how they look in a vase with just one or a few stems. So pretty! :)

Other flowers I TOTALLY dig include:

Orchids: Once again in the single-stem (or few stem) arrangements.

Simple is better.

And basically anything else that is absolutely, and simply beautiful. Clean, pretty colors, and flowers that look gorgeous in sparse arrangements (and pretty vases). :)
